Great performance!

Music Theatre of Wichita's Performer's Card program starts this weekend. The 2009 Performers Discount Card lets you boost our local economy, support youth programs at MTW and save 20 percent at more than 150 participating specialty shops, restaurants and merchants in Wichita and surrounding areas. The card is good from Nov. 6 through Nov. 15. If you want to purchase a card, which costs $50, or if you have questions about the card, call 316-265-3253. Participating businesses also have cards to sell.

Spooky sales

Halloween is over but, remember, it will roll around again next year. That's why it's smart to check out sales going on right now for spooky decor and other items. You'll have fun next year getting out the stuff you bought this year on sale.

Lucinda's in Old Town Square by the Warren Theater has a table full of fun Halloween merchandise for 50 percent off. Rings and votives and sparkling skulls, oh my. If you're looking for a fun gift, Lucinda's also has knitted monkey or dog caps for $29.

While we're talking holidays, with Christmas coming at break-neck speed, take advantage of before-the-season sales. "I'm not in the spirit yet" is not a reason to procrastinate.

Buy one, get 25 percent off another

At Frou Frou , in the Shops at Tallgrass, 8340 E. 21st St., if you buy one pair of shoes at regular price you'll get 25 percent off a second pair. This doesn't apply to previously discounted shoes.

A full heart

At K-Lane's, 600 S. Tyler, if you make a purchase of Brighton merchandise of at least $100, you'll receive a heart-shaped jewelry box made to store your Brighton charms. The box usually retails for $36. This offer is good until Nov. 15.

Check your oil

At Eric Fisher Salon's east location, 302 N. Rock Road, the product of the month is Sea Extend Silkening Oil Treat for $2 off. If you have trouble with frizz, you'll love this stuff.

These boots are made for walkin'

Comfortable, colorful boots are in at Eccentricity, 2939 N. Rock Road. Linda says she has boots that make a statement and they're going fast. Colorful suedes are $58, but if you want higher dollar styles, Old Gringos are $350 and $450.

Under the big top

Cheryl at Stems called to say she's having a tent sale this weekend in front of her store at 6370 E. Central. Sales are cash only in the tent. But the store is decorated for her annual holiday open house, so go take a look.

Other festive open houses

Look for these holiday open houses this weekend: J.R. Koontz Flowers , 633 N. Broadway, Saturday and Sunday, with 20 percent off cash-and-carry and 50 percent of Armani Italian sculptures. Twigs, 535 N. Woodlawn, is having a holiday open house Friday through Sunday.
