The record: Information about inmates under supervision by the Kansas Department of Corrections.

Why you'd want them: To learn more about why an inmate is in prison, when he or she is expected to get out and where he or she is being housed. Disciplinary reports also are included.

Where you get the records: From the Kansas Adult Supervised Population Electronic Repository (KASPER) site at www.doc.ks.gov/kasper.

How much it will cost: The information is free.
